CEDAR FALLS, IA - The Cedar Valley Centers for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) programs proudly announces that the 2023 Innovation Celebration Showcase will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at the Bien Venu Event Center in Cedar Falls from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Over the last six years, CAPS has provided high school students hands-on experience in various professional fields such as business, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and more. The CAPS Innovation Celebration gives student associates from nine area high schools the stage to represent their profession-based learning experience. CAPS creates innovative learning for high school students through projects, career discovery, and developing durable skills with focused training and key business partnerships.

The event will feature CAPS students' displays and presentations showcasing their work on real-world projects in front of industry professionals, community members, and fellow students. Attendees can network with these up-and-coming young professionals and learn about this innovative workforce development program inside CAPS-affiliated area high schools.

"We are thrilled to give our associates the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge at this year's celebration," said Ethan Wiechmann, Director of Cedar Falls CAPS. "This event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our associates and the support of our community partners."

Admission is free for the event and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

The Cedar Valley CAPS consortium includes students from Cedar Falls, Charles City, Columbus Catholic, Denver, Dunkerton, Don Bosco, Jesup, Waterloo, and Wapsie Valley High Schools. As a Profession-Based Learning program, learning is built around the four cornerstones of Innovation, Problem Solving, Professional Skills, and Career Exploration, with the mission to Prepare ALL Students for their Purpose, and a program member of the national CAPS Network.
